It literally changed my life! Rarely a day goes by when I do not refer to some aspect of the program. Everyone gets a chance to stretch themselves and discover capacity and capability that they didn't know they had. The discussions with peers and teachers were perhaps the most beneficial of all aspects for me personally. The teachers set a tone of sharing that allows everyone to give their best. I wish all my college courses had been as beneficial to me as the Character Ed. and Community Development Courses!

Often we hear that there is nothing we can do. People feel so overwhelmed by the problems in society that they feel helpless and apathetic. But this program introduced me to the thousands of parents, children, teachers, teenagers, institutions, businesses and churches who are working together creatively to build unity of thought and action. This program has given me the tools and given me the confidence to make a difference.

The qualities of servant leadershipwere demonstrated by the faculty and cultivated in the student. The assignments were spiritually and intellectually uplifting as well as allowing practical application toward meeting the student's needs. Many times I came away from the online discussions in a new state of mind. By applying principles of character we discovered new processes to solve problems that baffle people everyday.

. . . offers a unique view into iniativeson the part of members of the wider society whose aspirations and goals are closely aligned with those of the Bahá'í community. Building confidence to perform acts of service together with a group of intimate friends is one of the fruits of Ruhi study circles being offered by Baháí communities all over the world.

A simple definition of character is living what one believes. Our children are in desperate need of character education from every source—family, faith, community and school. For the most part, today's children, and many adults also, remain ill equipped to apply their moral principles and critical thinking skills to the situations they meet every day. This course put me in touch with the strengths and weaknesses of our schools and communities when it comes to assisting our children and young adults to develop character. It aroused in me a passion to continue my character-oriented community development work.
