Residential Colloquia
The CECD program includes three 5-day Residential Colloquia at Louhelen Bahá'í School.
The colloquia offer students, faculty, and the wider public—expressing diverse cultures and different areas of study, expertise, and interest—the opportunity to learn together and from each other, share experiences in serving the wider community, and build a community of spirited and caring co-learners.

The series of colloquia serve a number of purposes for the learners involved in the CECD certificate program:
- Cover the nuts and bolts of the certificate program.
- Provide close interactive peer learning and dialogue.
- Utilize the ‘laboratory school’ environment offered by Louhelen Bahá'í School sessions to practice classroom teaching and community outreach skills.
- Empower community-development skills through direct interaction with and learning from the wider public that participates in Louhelen Bahá'í School programs.
- Include time for conferences between CECD learners and their Louhelen-based core faculty advisors to refine project plans and discuss assignments.
- Showcase presentations by students of their work-in-progress, as well as relevant workshops by faculty and the wider public.
- Encourage brainstorming and networking sessions; panel discussions; and interdisciplinary seminars that supplement and cross the lines of individual learning programs.
- Offer opportunities for current students to advance in their learning and program mastery, and potential students to investigate the dynamics and fruits of the CECD learning model.
