Getting Here by Air - easier than you may think
Direct flights to Flint’s Bishop International Airport
Flint is served by several major airlines, including Delta, American, and Continental, as well as regional carriers Airtran and Skyway/Midwest Express. Flights arrive directly from Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, Milwaukee, and Cleveland. In winter there are also flights from Orlando, Tampa, and Fort Myers.
Ground transportation from Bishop Airport to Louhelen may be arranged with your Louhelen Registration for a charge of $25 each way ($35 per family).
We strongly suggest you book your travel to the Flint airport. Public ground transportation from the Detroit airport is complex, difficult, and very expensive. If you must fly to Detroit, renting a car and driving to Louhelen may be a better option. Driving directions from Detroit Metro Airport — Take highway I-94 west to highway US-23 north (approximately 15 miles). Travel north approximately 50 miles to highway I-69 east. Take I-69 east to exit #145 (Davison/Clarkston/M-15 exit). Turn right (south) as you come off the exit ramp—Louhelen Bahá'í School is on this road (M-15, also called State Rd.) Travel about 1.5 miles to the Louhelen entrance. The main entrance to Louhelen will be on your right. There is a very prominent stone sign at the entrance. Enter the driveway, follow signs to main building at the end of the driveway.
Arriving by Train
Flint is served by Amtrak, with daily service from Chicago to the west and Port Huron from the east. For schedules and fares, call Amtrak at 800-872-7245. Transportation from the Flint Amtrak/Greyhound station to Louhelen may be arranged with your Louhelen Registration Information for a charge of $25 each way ($35 per family).
Arriving by Bus

Driving
From the North – Saginaw and Upper Michigan
Take I-75 southbound to I-475 South. Follow I-475 to I-69 East. Follow I-69 to exit #145 (Davison/Clarkston/M-15 exit) Turn right (south) as you come off the exit ramp. Louhelen Bahá’í School is on this road (M-15, also called State Road.) Travel about 1.5 miles to the Louhelen entrance. The main entrance to Louhelen will be on your right. There is a very prominent stone sign at the entrance. Enter the driveway, follow signs to main building at the end of the driveway.
From the East – Port Huron/Sarnia
Take I-69 west to exit #145 (Davison/Clarkston/M-15 exit). Turn left (south) as you come off the exit ramp—Louhelen Bahá’í School is on this road (M-15, also called State Road.) Travel about 1.5 miles to the Louhelen entrance. The main entrance to Louhelen will be on your right. There is a very prominent stone sign at the entrance. Enter the driveway, follow signs to main building at the end of the driveway.
From the South/East – Detroit, Windsor
Take I-75 northbound to exit #91 (Davison/Clarkston/M-15 exit). Turn right as you come off the exit ramp and travel north on M-15. It is about 22 miles total distance from I-75 to the Louhelen entrance. You will pass through the towns of Ortonville and Goodrich along the way. Once you leave I-75 you will stay on M-15 for the rest of your travel to Louhelen. M-15 is known locally as State Road. About 5 miles after you pass through the town of Goodrich, there is a flashing yellow light at the Bristol Road intersection with M-15. This will alert you that you are nearing Louhelen. Continue on M-15, the main entrance will be on your left about 1/4 mile past the yellow light. There is a very prominent stone sign at the entrance. Enter the driveway, follow signs to main building at the end of the driveway.
From the South – Ann Arbor, Toledo
Take US-23 north to I-69 east. Follow I-69 to exit #145 (Davison/Clarkston/M-15 exit). Turn right (south) as you come off the exit ramp.
